Peking University (Peking University), founded in 1898, is located in the student district of Haidian District in northwest Beijing.
The campus of the University is famous for its beauty all over the world and occupies the former imperial gardens of the Qin Dynasty with their picturesque and traditional Chinese buildings.
Today, The University is one of the most important in the People’s Republic of China. It offers 120 undergraduate programs, 242 master’s and 212 doctoral programs.
In Beijing University enrolled nearly 40,000 students of which about 3500 – foreign students.
By the way, this is the first Chinese university which took students from abroad (in 1952).
The University is also popular for its many scientific, cultural, sports and technical communities, of which there are about 100.
Peking University is a member of an international network of Universitas 21, the most advanced institutions. According to this authoritative journals as The Times, Peking University occupies 45 place in the world for the quality of education and 1 in Asia.
