University of Jena (German. Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, abbr. FSU Jena), located in Jena (Germany ), was founded in 1558 February 2 by Emperor Ferdinand I. University is a multidisciplinary educational and research center of international repute. The main areas of research in the University of Jena are: Optics, photonics and photonic technologies Education Innovative Materials and Technologies The cultural context of aging People in social change Analysis and management of complex systems Dynamics of complex biological systems Basics of Europe: Culture and religion in Antiquity and the Middle Ages Within its walls are educated 22,000 students and conduct the activity of about 340 professors. At one time in the University of Jena conducted their activities such famous personalities like Karl Marx, Schopenhauer, Hegel, Leibniz, Schiller. In honor of the latter, and was renamed the University in the 20th century.
