De Montfort University

De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is a public university in Leicester, England. It was established in 1992 under the Further and Higher Education Act as the awarding authority for academic degrees.

DMU strives to build what employers need: work-ready graduates with professional experience and industry skills on the CV. Internships in the UK and abroad, targeted training, coaching and research opportunities are all part of DMU's life and study. The university has about 27,000 full-time and part-time students, 3,240 employees, and an annual turnover of approximately £ 168 million. Its campus consists of ten dormitories, offering about 3,000 university-provided rooms, and is about ten minutes' walk from Leicester city center.

The university consists of four faculties:

1. Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities (ADH);

2. Business and Law (BAL);

3. Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (H&LS);

4. Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media (CEM).

Initiated by the UN, since 2018, the university has been considered a center for sustainable development, dedicated to issues of peace, justice and strong institutions.

The UK Department of Education has awarded the institution a 2017 Teacher Excellence Gold rating, calling teaching “consistently outstanding” and “highest quality in the UK higher education sector”. DMU is one of the universities with the largest number of teaching fellowships of any UK university and has been honored as a center of excellence for its hands-on learning and student support. In addition, the university was ranked 94th in the UK in the 2018 Guardian rankings, 70th in The Complete University Guide for 2019, and 67th in The Times / Sunday Times Higher Education Rankings.
