Bangor University, founded in 1884 and dedicated to educating students for over 130 years, is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in the UK<\/p>

Bangor offers a wide range of programmes in a wide range of disciplines. The University is home to the North Wales Medical School; the school's new, state-of-the-art facilities allow it to train medical professionals in a variety of specialities. Among other things, the university offers oceanographic education; it even has a research vessel, the Prince Madog<\/p>

The Pontio Centre for Arts and Innovation includes educational facilities, a theatre, cinema, bar, caf\u00e9 and innovative learning space, as well as student clubs. The campus is equipped with sports facilities, outdoor and indoor areas for contact sports, fitness and more<\/p>

Student life at Bangor University is diverse, with over 150 clubs, societies and student unions covering a wide range of interests, sports and activities, with something for everyone. Membership of clubs is free - all students can take advantage of the extra-curricular activities on offer. Bangor University clubs and societies have been named the best in the UK at the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2019<\/p>

- Bangor University has the advantage of being close to the mountains and the sea, named the best university location in the UK. In 2016, North Wales was named the 4th best region in the world to visit by Lonely Planet. The area's strengths include its favourable geographical location, new sporting facilities and a wealth of outdoor activities<\/p>

- Bangor University is known as one of the most environmentally friendly universities in the world - it is one of the three greenest universities in the world according to Universitas Indonesia UI Green Metric. The university has established its own sustainability laboratory: the main areas of activity are high quality teaching, research, participation in social projects, and sustainability assurance.<\/p>

Bangor believes that university should provide more than just qualifications, and provides students with a variety of employability resources. Education is not limited to the academic content of the chosen programme; the university builds broadly relevant skills, career plans, a clear vision of the pathway to success, and self-confidence.<\/p>
