The University of York is one of England's leading research universities, part of the Russell Group's 24 research institutions<\/p>

Environmental sustainability is a core tenet of the University of York: researchers collaborate across disciplines to help shape a more sustainable future for all, addressing unprecedented global challenges in environmental, social and economic sustainability. The Environmental Sustainability at York (ESAY) programme was launched in 2021 to reinvigorate the University and develop pathways to help achieve carbon neutrality by 2030<\/p>

Wildlife is everywhere on the University of York campus: lakes, wetlands make it a popular destination for many species of birds including ducks, geese, swans, grebes, grebes, reed warblers, coots and herons. Rabbits and squirrels are also a common sight on campus! For example, Long Boy, an unusually tall male duckling much loved by staff and students, especially BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James, has taken up permanent residence at the University of York. The campus is also home to more than 70 different species of trees, both native and imported<\/p>

Campus Facilities:<\/strong><\/p>

The University of York has two campuses. One is located on the picturesque lakeside (in a parkland area on the outskirts of York). The 200-acre campus is a 25-minute drive from the university's other campus. The small campus is located in the centre of York. The university's infrastructure is represented by teaching blocks with classrooms, laboratories, computer centres, library, residential facilities, and sports complexes. There are also radio and television studios on site. From 2000 to 2016 there was a campus-wide upgrade with investment recognised as the largest in UK higher education. The campus doubled in size, with around \u00a3750 million invested in teaching, research, chemistry laboratories, library expansion, and sports facilities<\/p>

The University of York campus regularly hosts general events such as sporting competitions, art exhibitions, academic seminars with visiting experts, music concerts and many others. Students from themed communities perform for the university and guests in honour of holidays and on special dates for the institution<\/p>
