Video review

UWE Bristol is a State Research University in the West of Britain. It was awarded university status in 1992. Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Sony, Aardman Animations and OVO Energy are all headquartered here. And in 2017 The Sunday Times named Bristol one of the best places to live.

Interesting Facts:

- Historical roots: Although UWE was officially founded in 1992, its predecessor, Bristol Polytechnic, had been in existence since 1969

- International community: The university has more than 30,000 students, including about 4,000 international students from more than 140 countries.

- Cultural events: UWE is actively involved in the cultural life of Bristol, organising various events, exhibitions and festivals

Campus Facilities:

UWE Bristol has three unique campuses. Study takes place close to the town of Frenchay. Here is the main Bristol Frenchay campus just four miles from the city centre. Here, students study business, entrepreneurship and the practice of law in their own separate building of seven floors. More than $55 million has been invested in the construction project

Bristol Business School is designed to give students the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice - to start their own startup, to try their hand at being a marketer, an entrepreneur in real time. There's a Bloomberg City trading floor - a place where students work with market data similar to a stock exchange. And they also develop their real-life project scenarios and try to implement them here. Each faculty has its own separate building and territory.

The second campus is called Campus City. It is home to the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education and consists of three departments:

- Art and design
- Creative and cultural industries
- Educating children in creativity

This campus has 6,000 students on the undergraduate programme and full and part-time postgraduate students. As well as 445 staff, faculty and industry professionals across the faculty. The faculty has five locations across the city that are connected to local industry partners. Here, students put knowledge into practice in local workshops

The campus consists of Bower Ashton and Spike Island, an area for creative labs, and the studio spaces of Arnolfini and Watershed, internationally renowned centres for contemporary art and design

UWE Bristol's third campus, Gloucester Campus is located at Alexandra Warehouse at Gloucester Docks. This is where the University's medical schools are centred. The nursing major is a challenging but rewarding career that impacts and changes lives, and not just students. As a nurse, you will have your share of influence in improving access to quality healthcare, wellbeing, social inclusion and quality of life

Facts:

- The university has the opportunity to participate in international research in almost every faculty. This allows you to take part in professional practice, which can be continued after your studies.
- There is an opportunity for UWE students to develop musical talents professionally as part of a hobby. A concert hall with studios, masterclasses, and music labs opens up additional opportunities for students. Even if music is not your first priority
- The University is constantly evolving, with a recent £300 million investment in campus developments including a student area and sports centre on the Frenchay campus, and the purchase of land owned by the nearby Hewlett Packard Company.
- UWE Bristol has had a separate joint programme with Hartpury University since early 1997 when it (then called Hartpury College) was granted associate lecturer status. This covers areas such as veterinary science, agriculture and animal science. If you are interested - then this is your option!

UWE programmes are designed to provide students with relevant competences and useful practical experience. Students are encouraged to think about their future career from the very first day at university

Many programmes include collaboration with employers. In the academic year 2022 | 23, UWE Bristol students will have completed over 10,000 work placements. Some programmes (notably Construction, Computing, Engineering) use mentoring to help students get to know potential employers and gain an in-depth understanding of the industry in which they will be working
